Our Story

šŸ‘„ About the Founders

Steve & Eleni are siblings, and have both been playing piano for over 18 years, passed all 8 Australian Music Examination Board (AMEB) grades by 16, and co-founded the International Academy of Music in Sydney in 2018, where they still teach. They also run theĀ Universal Piano YouTube channel @UniversalPiano, where Steve performs advanced piano covers in long-form for experienced players, and tutorials in short-form for beginners.

Steve is the head teacher at the 5-star Google-rated International Academy of Music. He has earned three AMus (Associate in Music) level diplomas and holds the rare ability of perfect pitch ā€” the ability to name any note just by hearing it (found in only 1 in 10,000 people).

Eleni enjoys playing jazz and is always on the lookout for new pieces to learn.

šŸŽ¹ How Piano Glory BeganĀ 

A couple of years ago, two sibling piano teachers noticed a recurring challenge at their academy. Students arrived with flimsy, low quality folders that simply werenā€™t made for musicians. We kept seeing the same issues:

  • Glare on the sleeves made reading difficult
  • Taking notes meant removing the sheet each time
  • Folders wouldnā€™t lay flat on the piano
  • Page turning felt awkward
  • Beginners struggled without any pianist-focused learning tools

So we created our own solution: a folder built for pianistsā€”no-glare sleeves, easy note-taking, smooth page turns, and a clean, elegant design. It quickly became our best-selling product, and our students felt the difference immediatelyā€”more focus, better organisation, and easier practice.

What began as tools for pianists has now grown into a range designed for all musicians, with products that make practice simpler and performance stronger.

When it came time to name the store, we thought of our mum, Gloria. Sheā€™s the one who sparked our love for piano and supported us through every lesson, recital, and exam.
